The Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA) is situated on 320 acres along Mozingo Lake and is operated by Northwest Missouri State University.

MOERA patrons can take part in recreation activities that include a challenge course for developing leadership and teamwork skills.

MOERA is available for developing climbing skills, leadership development, self-esteem, and empowerment activities. MOERA will customize the challenge course experience to meet your group or team goals. Basic skills and techniques, including belay school, are included in the programs. All programs are facilitated by trained staff members and is included in the cost of your program.

Climbing Structures

  • Alpine Climbing Tower – 50-foot structure provides a challenge for beginning to advance climbers.  This is a great structure to use for your team development activities.
  • Carolina Climbing Wall – 50-foot climbing challenge featuring 6 different routes of climbing difficulty.
  • Odyssey II Ropes Course – 2-tiered ropes course can accommodate up to 40 people at a time, making it a great team-building activity.
  • Low Element Course – Low element structure challenges your team physically and mentally during this unique bonding experience.

Outdoor Recreation

  • Archery – Both public and special event target and field archery is available.  Come enjoy the fourteen (14) target field archery range!
  • Trap Shooting – Three (3) American Trap Association trap and wobble trap courses are available.  Public shoots, leagues, and special event programming is available.
  • Canoeing & Kayaking – Special programming can be provided to your group or individual rentals are available for your own enjoyable paddling experience on Mozingo Lake.
  • MOERA Classroom – The classroom facility offers a small kitchen area, tables and chairs, and white boards for your meeting or class needs.  Classroom sessions customized into any MOERA challenge course program are available.
