Hunting for deer, waterfowl, turkey, pheasant, and other small game such as rabbits and squirrels, is popular throughout the Mozingo Lake area.

Hunting is restricted to the area of Mozingo Lake as outlined on the map. This area is located north of 245th Street on the west side of the lake and north of 230th Street on the east side of the lake. Hunters may only use shotguns or bows to hunt on the property; no single-projectile firearms (i.e. rifles) are permitted.

The Missouri Department of Conservation regulates all hunting and valid licenses and/or permits are required. For more information in regards to hunting seasons and daily limits, please visit the Missouri Conservation website at mdc.mo.gov.

Mozingo Staff, Maryville Public Safety, and Missouri Department of Conservation would like to remind all hunters about the ordinances at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park:

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to use, carry, possess or discharge any single projectile rifle anywhere on Mozingo Lake property.
  • Only shotguns or bow shall be allowed to hunt on Mozingo Lake property within the marked boundaries on the newly updated 2023 map.
  • No trapping of any kind is allowed unless authorized with a permit by the City of Maryville. If trapping is authorized, the trappers must comply with Chapter 8 of the Wildlife Code of Missouri.
  • Tree Stands may be placed at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park only from Sept. 1 – Jan. 31. Stands must be identified with the full name, address, and phone of the owner.
