About the course
Named one of the “Top 15 Hybrid Courses” in North America by Golf Digest, the Watson 9 is a must play for all ages and abilities. The 9-hole short/executive course was designed by golf legend Tom Watson and the Tom Watson Golf Course Design Group and opened for play in 2016. The USGA certified course features irrigated fairways, regulation size greens and bunkers, a combination of par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s, and three sets of tees that challenge golfers to improve their skills. Golf carts are prohibited on the Watson 9, encouraging golfers to feel the course design through its relationship with nature.
The Watson 9 is an affordable yet quality course located adjacent to the Sechrest 18. The course is home to numerous youth events and regional tournaments. Ten percent of all green fees are provided to the Junior Golf Foundation; a non-profit organization aimed at growing the game of golf through instruction, opportunity, and provision of golf clubs to youth.
Financed through a grass roots effort, the Watson 9 was made possible by Tom Watson, Junior Golf Course Committee, Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation, the Rickard Family Trust, Orval Heywood, various local businesses and individuals along with donations of in-kind services.

The Watson 9 is a walking only course; however accommodations are available for persons with disabilities. Pull carts for clubs are also available at the Pro Shop.
